Biography of Colonel Samuel Anderson

Colonel Samuel Anderson was born in Newtownhamilton, County Armagh, N.Ireland, on 22nd May, 1874, and died in Paignton on 16th January, 1940.

Following distinguished service all over India and during the First World War, in Iraq, in 1916-1919, he was in Charge of Kut-el-Amara General Military Hospital and evacuated the whole Hospital on the last night before the Turks recaptured Kut.
