Ivor McNeil Drysdale
Surgeon-Lieutenant Ivor McNeill Drysdale RN was born in Glasgow and attended the High School of Glasgow. He studied at the University, graduating MB, ChB in 1935 and worked as a Resident at Glasgow Royal Infirmary before becoming a general practitioner.

Drysdale joined the Royal Navy in 1936 and served on HMS Folkstone in China for three years. He was killed on 25 or 26 March 1941 when the troopship on which he was travelling back to the Far East, the Anchor Line's Britannia, was attacked and sunk 750 miles off Freetown by a German surface raider.
