Roll of Honour
Robert Scott was born 6th October 1881 to Jane and Robert Scott, Robert worked as a measurer. The family lived in Pollockshields.
In 1898 Robert came to the University of Glasgow to study for an MA. During this time he took a variety of subjects, including: Latin, French, Logic and Moral Philosophy. He graduated 23rd April 1901. In 1902 he was back studying, this time Law, and took classes including: Jurisprudence, Civil Law and International Private Law. He graduated LLB on 18th April 1904.
During the war Robert was in the 3rd Regiment of the South African Infantry. He died in the Battle of the Somme on 5th July 1916 and is buried in the Dive Copse British Cemetery. he is also remembered on a grave stone in New Kilpatrick churchyard.
