Roll of Honour
Robert Kennedy was born to Mary and Captain Ross Kennedy. The family lived in Ayr and Robert's father worked as a restaurateur. Robert attended Ayr Academy and was a member of their Cadet Corps.
In 1914 he moved to Glasgow and came to the University to study Medicine, taking Zoology and Chemistry. In October he joined the Officer Training Corps. Robert only spent one year at University, stopping his studies in June 1916 when he was gazetted as a 2nd Lieutenant to the 2nd Bn. Royal Scots Fusiliers.
2nd Lieutenant Robert Kennedy was killed on the 10th July 1916, aged 20. He is buried in La Neuville British Cemetery in Corbie, France.
