Western Infirmary
The Western Infirmary in 1874The foundation stone of the Western Infirmary was laid by Mr Walter Neilson of Queenshill. An elaborate ceremony followed that included a procession to the University where it was joined by the Principal and Members of the Senate, then through the Professor’s Quadrangle and down University Avenue to the site of the Foundation Stone.
