Scottish History and Literature
Description
The Chair of Scottish History and Literature was founded in 1913 and endowed by a grant of £15,000 made by the organisers of the Scottish Exhibition of National History, Art and Industry (held in Kelvingrove Park in 1911) and grants from other donors. In 1971 the departments of Scottish History and Scottish Literature became administratively separate, but the chair retains its name.
