Queen Margaret Residence (2002-Present)

Queen Margaret Residence opened in September 2002. The student residence is located on the site of the previous Queen Margaret Hall (1964-2000) and is named after Margaret, Queen of the Scots (c1045-1093) and Saint. She was the wife of Malcolm III and was a pious woman devoted to the Church and to charitable works. The Hall was originally a residence for the female students of Queen Margaret College.

The new Queen Margaret Residence was designed by the ADF Partnership and built by Melville Dundas. The residence comprises self-contained flats of which there are 391 (originally 382) single study en suite bedrooms and a common dining/kitchen area.
