James Loudon
Biography of James Loudon
James Dalrymple Loudon (d 1979) was a graduate of the University who was titular Professor of Chemistry from 1968 until 1973.
Loudon's primary research was in the fields of optical activity, colchicine and tripolones, the organic chemistry of sulphur and indole alkaloids. He published more than seventy academic papers during his career, mostly in the Journal of the Chemical Society.
