Biography of Jim Craig

Jim Philip Craig (1943- ) is an alumnus of the University who played for the football club and competed in athletics. He won a European Cup medal playing for Glasgow Celtic versus Inter Milan in 1967.

Craig studied dentistry at the University, joining Celtic as an amateur in 1963 while he pursued his studies. He signed professional forms in January 1965. He played 231 times for Celtic and won fourteen domestic league and cup competitions as well as a European Cup medal. He was capped once for Scotland. In 1972 he played in South Africa and then for Sheffield Wednesday, but retired in 1973 to practice as a dentist.
