Biography of Arthur Francis

Frederick Arthur Stratton Francis (1944- ) was Professor of Corporate Strategy and Director of Research at the University's Business School from 1992 to 1998. He was also Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Francis graduated with a BSc in Engineering from Imperial College, London. Following graduation, he was a Research Student and Research Officer at Imperial College from 1967 to 1973 and then worked as a Research Officer at Nuffield College, Oxford for three years. He joined Imperial College School of Management in 1976 as Lecturer and was later promoted to Senior Lecturer. He left Imperial College in 1992 and moved to Glasgow.

In 2008, Francis left the University on his appointment as Professor and Dean of the School of Management at the University of Bradford.
