William Lauder

Biography of William Lauder

William Lauder was born in 1807 in Ballachulish, Argyll, and was the son of Alexander Lauder.

William matriculated at the University of Glasgow in 1824. While at University he studied Greek, Logic, and Ethics, before becoming a Church of Scotland Missionary.

William was ordained at Glengarry, where he then served as a Free Church Minister until 1844. In 1844 he became the Free Church Minister at Strachur, where he remained until his death on 14 October 1885, aged 78.
