Biography of Alexander Denny

Alexander Denny took was an Arts student at the University of Glasgow. He was born in Glasgow on 10 March 1839 and was the son of John Denny, the Town Clerk of Dumbarton.

Denny began his education at Dumbarton's Burgh Academy before taking classes at the University in 1860. He attended lessons in Logic, Latin and Scotch law. Upon his father’s death in 1877, Alexander Denny and his brother-in-law Alexander Allan were jointly appointed Town Clerks of Dumbarton. Denny passed away in 1877.
