Biography of Peter Murdoch

Peter Murdoch (b. 1795) was an alumnus of the University who was present at the Battle of Waterloo. He studied under Professor William Richardson at the University in 1807.

His entry in Addison's Matriculations of the University of Glasgow (Glasgow, 1913) reads:

7400 PETRUS MURDOCH filius 2dus Jacobi Mercatoris Glasg: natu. Born in 1795. Joined the 35th Foot, and saw service in the Low Countries. Was afterwards at Waterloo and the occupation of Paris by the Allies. Received the Waterloo Medal. Latterly Sugar Refiner in Glasgow.
