Biography of Dr Gerald Chan

Dr Gerald Chan was awarded the honorary degree of DSc from the University of Glasgow during the Commemoration Day ceremony on 17th June 2015 for distinction in research, in business, and through this in encouraging and supporting education and research for the benefit of humanity.

Gerald Chan is a director of and co-founded the Morningside Foundation in 1986. The Morningside Foundation endowed the Morningside College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Chan is currently a board member of the Hang Lung Group, a large real estate company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and serves on the boards of several biotechnology companies.

Dr. Chan is also a trustee of Fudan University in Shanghai and sits on the advisory boards of a number of Universities and Institutes in the United States, China, and Hong Kong.
