James Caldwell
Biography of James Caldwell
James Caldwell matriculated at the University in 1839. He was the youngest son of William, a workman of Irvine, Ayrshire.
Caldwell took a theological course in the United Secession Hall. He joined fellow Glasgow students William Paxton Young and Matthew Strang, missionaries to Jamaica, where he was ordained in 1847. Caldwell died there of fever in 1848.
