Andrew Wedderburn

Biography of Andrew Wedderburn

Andrew Wedderburn matriculated at the University in 1790, one year after his brother, John. He was born in Inveresk, East Lothian, the second son of James Wedderburn.

Wedderburn went in to business, initially as a sugar broker (Wedderburn and Company) and then as London-based governor of the Hudson's Bay Company in 1852 until his death in 1856. He changed his name to Andrew Colvile Wedderburn and subsequently Andrew Colvile (or Colville).

Andrew Wedderburn of Ochiltree and Crombie died on 3 February 1856.
