Biography of Frederick Henry Rowling
Frederick Henry Rowling studied Science and Engineering at the University of Glasgow from 1880 to 1883. He was born in Sydney, New South Wales around 1859, son of John Rowling.
Rowling enrolled at the University in 1880, aged 20, where he took classes over 3 years in Natural Philosophy, Mathematics, Geology, Mineralogy, Engineering, Chemistry, Natural History, and Moral Philosophy. He went on to become a civil engineer in Brisbane, Queensland, close to his hometown of Ipswich, where he became chief draughtsman in the Forestry Department.
