Biography of Waradea Abdurahman
Waraedea Abdurahman was born in May 1896 in Cape Town, South Africa. She was the daughter of Dr Adbullah Abdurahman, a Glasgow University Medicine graduate and Helen Porter James. Waredea Adburahman’s parents met in Glasgow.
She joined the University of Glasgow to study Medicine in 1920 and graduated in 1927. She went back to South Africa to practice Medicine.
Waradea Abdurahman’s sister Zainunnisa (Cissie) Gool, was a renowned anti-apartheid political and civil rights leader.
