Biography of Sir Roderick MacSween

Sir Roderick Norman McIver MacSween (1935-2015) was a graduate of the University who was appointed titular Professor of Pathology in 1978 and held the Chair of Pathology from 1984 until 1999. He was awarded an honorary DSc in 2007.

MacSween graduated from the University BSc with honours in 1956 and MD in 1973. He was a lecturer, Senior Lecturer and then Reader in Pathology from 1965 until he became a titular Professor. He was President of the Royal College of Pathologists from 1996 to 1999 and knighted in 2000.

He died on 11th December 2015 at Mearnskirk, Renfrewshire.
