Biography of Gustaf Emanuel Hildebrand Aulén
Gustaf Emanuel Hildebrand Aulén, a Swedish theologian, was awarded Doctor of Divinity from the University of Glasgow in 1951.
In 1913 Aulén was appointed Professor of Dogmatics at Lund University. In 1933, he became Bishop of Strängnäs in the Church of Sweden, after publishing his most famous work Christus Victor: An Historical Study of the Three Main Types of the Idea of Atonement in 1931.
