Biography of Howard Chenhalls Howie

Howard Chenhalls Howie graduated BSc in 1947. He was the youngest of three born to Scottish immigrants Rev Robert and Annie Margaret Howie in Winnipeg May 1915.

Howie enrolled at the University of Glasgow in 1933 and was the recipient of a couple bursaries including the Further Education and Training Grant. Howie's studies were interrupted by the Second World War as he enlisted in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, serving as temporary sub-lieutenant. Howie returned to the University in 1946, completing his BSc in 1947. He became a teacher and remained in Glasgow, where he passed away in 1977, aged 62.
