Biography of Professor Kathryn Crameri
Kathryn Crameri was the Head of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures from 2014 to 2016 and held the Stevenson Chair of Hispanic Studies until 2016. She is currently a Honorary Professorial Research Fellow in Hispanic Studies.
She completed a PhD at Clare College, Cambridge, before taking up a lectureship at Lancaster University. She then moved to the University of Sydney, where she was the first head of the new Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies and later an Associate Dean in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Her research focuses on Catalan Studies, with particular interests in contemporary Catalan literature, cultural policy, and Catalan nationalism.
