James Buchanan
Biography of James Buchanan
James Buchanan (d 1761) was Professor of Oriental Languages from 1757 to 1761. He is believed to have studied at the University, graduating MA in 1744.
In 1761, Professor Robert Simson proposed that Buchanan should teach his Mathematics classes, but Buchanan died before the Faculty could consider the proposal.
