William Anderson
Biography of William Anderson
William Anderson was the University's first Professor of Ecclesiastical History, 1721 to 1752, and he matriculated to study at the University in 1739.
Anderson was the son of the minister of Drymen. He was a staunch supporter of James Hamilton of Aikenhead in the controversial rectorial election of 1727.
