Biography of Seamus Ross

Seamus Ross was Professor of Humanities Informatics and Digital Curation from 2004-2008, and has been Professor (Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Institute) in the School of Humanities since 2009.

He was Director of Humanities Computing and Information Management, Faculty of Arts, and the founding Director of the Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Institute (HATII) from 1997 to 2008.

From 2004 to 2008, he was Associate Director of the United Kingdom Digital Curation Centre (UK DCC). He was involved in many UK, European, and international projects into digital preservation. These projects included ERPANET, InterPARES, the DELOS Digital Libraries Network of Excellence, DigiCULT, CASPAR, PLANETS, DPE, and AHDS Performing Arts.

In addition to his professorship at the University of Glasgow, he is now Dean for the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto.
