Graham Charles Murray Watt holds the Norie-Miller Chair of General Practice. He is Head of the Section of General Practice and Primary Care.

Watt graduated MBChB and MD from the University of Aberdeen. After hospital posts in Aberdeen, Shetland, Leicester and Nottingham, he worked for two years as research registrar at the MRC Epidemiology and Medical Care Unit, based with Dr Julian Tudor Hart at Glyncorrwg Health Centre in South Wales. He then completed professional training in general practice at Townhead Health Centre in Glasgow, and in public health at Greater Glasgow Health Board.

Watt was Head of the Glasgow MONICA Project Centre in the Department of General Practice at the University from 1983 to 1986. He then worked as a research manager for health services research in the Scottish Chief Scientist Office. He became Senior Lecturer in Public Health at the University in 1990. He was appointed to the Norie-Miller Chair of General Practice in 1994.
