Biography of Robert Duncanson Mackenzie

Robert Duncanson Mackenzie graduated from the University of Glasgow MA in 1830.

He was born in Cardross and after his father's death in 1825 he succeeded to the estate of Caldarvan. You can find out more about Caldarvan House and lands here.

Once Robert graduated he began his career as a lawyer in Dumbarton in 1836 though mainly worked in Glasgow during his life, joining the firm Couper, Mackenzie and Innes, which would later become Mackenzie, Robertson and Co.
