Biography of Rex Whitehead
Rex (Raymond) Whitehead attended Essendon High School, Melbourne. He graduated MSc and PhD from the University of Melbourne.
Rex Whitehead joined the University of Glasgow in 1967 as a Research Fellow. He became Lecturer in 1969 and Reader in 1978. In 1986 he was appointed titular professor of Theoretical Physics.
Professor Whitehead was a member of the University Court from 1992 to 1996. He was Dean of the Faculty of Science from 1993 to 1996 and Clerk of Senate from 1996 to 2001. He is currently an Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Educational Studies.
