Biography of George Boyle 4th Earl of Glasgow

George Boyle, 4th Earl of Glasgow (1776-1843) was Rector of the University from 1817-1819.

Boyle served as a Captain in the West Lothian Fencible Regiment in 1793 and in various militias in Scotland. He was a Representative Peer of Scotland between 1790 and 1815 and was created 1st Baron Ross of Hawkhead in 1815.
