Dunbar Douglas, 4th Earl of Selkirk (1722-1799) was Rector of the University from 1767 to 1768.
Dunbar Hamilton changed his surname to Douglas when he succeeded to the earldom in 1744. He was Lord Lieutenant of the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright.
