John Bell

Biography of John Bell

John Bell (d 1641) was a regent at the University who was Rector from 1600 to 1603; 1612 to 1613; 1614 to 1615; 1627 to 1629; 1631 to 1632 and from 1635 until 1636.

Bell had been a regent and the minister of Cardross before he was promoted Minister of Glasgow in 1594. When he died in 1641 he is believed to have been over 80 years of age.
