Biography of William Carmichael
William Carmichael, Vicar of Symington, was Rector of the University from 1478 to 1479 and 1483 until 1484.
Carmichael was related to George Carmichael, Duke of Albany. In 1484 he "supplicated and eloquently persuaded" the University not to re-elect him in 1484.
