Biography of Bob Davis

Bob Davis is Professor of Religious and Cultural Education and Head of the School of Education.

Following university research fellowships in English Literature and Anthropology, and a doctorate from the University of Stirling, he completed a PGCE Secondary qualification in English and History and held teaching posts in a number of secondary schools in Glasgow, Falkirk and Dundee. He was appointed to the staff of St Andrew’s College in 1991 as Lecturer in Language and Literature, assuming in 1995 the post of Director of Inservice Education. At the merger of the College and the University in 1999, he was appointed Senior Lecturer in Curriculum Studies in the Faculty of Education. Moving to the Department of Religious Education in 2003 as Senior Lecturer, he was Head of that department from 2004-2008, then Deputy Dean of the Faculty from August 2009 until his appointment as Head of School in August 2010.
