Biography of John William Barclay
Captain John (Ian) William Barclay of the RAMC was born in Glasgow and educated at the High School and at the University, where he graduated MB, ChB in 1932. He became a general practitioner in the city.
Barclay joined the RAMC in 1942 and was initially stationed in the UK. He was subsequently posted to India where he fell ill. He was sent home to the UK for treatment but died on 4 July 1944.
