Biography of Alexander James Aitken
Second Lieutenant Alexander James Aitken of the Royal Signals was born in Clydebank. After attending the High School of Glasgow he graduated MA from the University in 1938 and went on to study Law.
War broke out before Aitken could sit his final exams and he enlisted in the Royal Corps of Signals. He was posted to India and was attached to the Indian Army, transferred to Northern Malaya in 1941. He was killed on 13 December 1941 in fighting after the Japanese invasion.
