Biography of Alastair Robert Simpson Ritchie
Ordinary Coder Alastair Robert Simpson Ritchie was born in Bonnybridge and graduated MA from the University in 1934. He joined the Royal Navy, and served aboard the escort carrier HMS Audacity.
Ritchie died on 21 December 1941 when Audacity was sunk off the coast of Portugal by a German U-Boat.
