Alexander MacKay

Biography of Alexander MacKay

Captain Alexander MacKay was born in Stornoway in 1913. He graduated Bachelor of Science from the University in 1937.

MacKay became Officer Commanding of A Company of the seventh battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders. He was killed in an attack near the Odon River in Normandy on the morning of 11 July 1944. The attack killed all the officers in the Company.
