Biography of Colin Campbell MacColl

Pilot Officer Colin Campbell MacColl was born on Iona and studied at the University, graduating MA in 1939.

According to the Malta Family History website, MacColl served as a navigator with 227 Squadron based at Ta Kali in Malta. He was killed on 18 December 1942 when his Beaufighter aircraft was shot down as it escorted a convoy to the island.
