Biography of Roy Walter Thomson Galbraith

Ordinary Seaman Roy Walter Thomson Galbraith was born in Glasgow. He studied for an MA at the University, which he was awarded in 1941 in absentia.

Galbraith joined the Royal Navy early in the war, and served aboard the battleship HMS Prince of Wales. He was killed on 10 December 1941 when his ship and the battlecruiser HMS Repulse were sunk by Japanese aircraft off the coast of Malaya.
