Biography of Marianne Arnott
Marianne Arnott was the widow of Dr Neil Arnott (1788-1874), the physician and a pioneer of public health reform who founded the Arnott Prizes in 1869. In 1875, with Sir William Thomson, she endowed the Arnott and Thomson Demonstratorship in Experimental Physics.
