Biography of Isidore Aaron Walton

Isidore Walton was a Glasgow property developer and the founder of Scottish Metropolitan Property plc. In 1964, with his wife Lena and son David, he founded the Isidore and David Walton Charitable Trust and in 1966 an endowment to the British Heart Foundation enabled the creation of the Walton Chair of Medical Cardiology at the University. The Walton Chair of Cardiac Surgery was founded by the British Heart Foundation in 1974, again in association with the Walton Trust. The Walton Foundation also made a significant contribution to the cost of the Walton Foundation Library and Resource Area in the Wolfson Medical School Building, and in 2004 contibuted to the British Heart Foundation Glasgow Cardiovascular Research Centre appeal.
