John Edwards
Biography of John Edwards
The Edwards Chair of Medieval History is named for John Edwards (1846-1937), a scholar and antiquarian who was awarded an LLD in 1919. The Chair was founded in 1955 and renamed in his honour in 1989. The Edwards Lectureship in Palaeography and Diplomatic was endowed by Edwards' bequest and founded in 1943.
