Ede and Ravenscroft
Description
In 1689 William and Martha Shudall, tailors in Aldwich, London, were commissioned to create the robes for the coronation of William and Mary. The family firm went on to produce royal garments for every subsequent coronation and for state openings of parliament and various royal, civic, legal and academic ceremonies. The firm became known as Ede and Ravenscroft in 1902.
