Cancer Research Campaign

The Cancer Research Campaign Chair of Oncology was founded in 1974 with funds from the Cancer Research Campaign. The name was changed to Medical Oncology in 1985, after the foundation of the Chair of Radiation Oncology.

The CRC was founded in 1923 as the British Empire Cancer Campaign. It became the Cancer Research Campaign (CRC) in 1970. In February 2002 the CRC merged with the Imperial Cancer Research Fund to create Cancer Research UK, the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research.
