Gartmore Gold Medal
Description
The Gartmore Gold Medal was instituted in 1787 by Robert Graham of Gartmore (1735-1797), an alumnus and the Rector of the University from 1785 to 1787. The interest from the medal fund of £100 sterling was to be used to purchase a gold medal to be awarded every other year for the best discourse by a student on political liberty.
