Douglas Alexander Bowman Lindsay

Douglas Alexander Bowman Lindsay was born 14th June 1895, the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bowman Lindsay of 8 Victoria Crescent in Dowanhill, Glasgow. He attended the Glasgow Academy before becoming a clerk in a Glasgow shipping office.

In 1914 he became a member of the Officer Training Corps. He then enlisted with the 17th Highland Light Infantry before being gazetted to the 10th Cameronians, Scottish Rifles. He fought in the Battle of Loos where he died on the first day of battle on the 25th September 1915.
