James Mclean Marshall
James Mclean Marshall was born in Paisley where his father, John, worked as an iron founder.
James came to the University of Glasgow in 1913 to study Engineering and took: Maths, Natural Philosophy, Chemistry and Physical Laboratory. His studies were interrupted by the outbreak of war and he was never to complete them.
James joined the 6th Cameron Highlanders and fought in the Battle of Loos where he died on the 26th September 1915. He is remembered on the Loos Memorial.
