Sir James McNeill
Sir James McNeill (1892-1964), the University graduate who became Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of John Brown & Co (Clydebank) Ltd, died. Sir James was one of the naval architects responsible for the design of the liners Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. He was awarded an honorary LLD by the University in 1939.
