Addison 1727-1897 reads: One of the Judges of the Court of Session, under title of Lord Kinnedder; friend and literary confident of Sir Walter Scott; son of Episcopalian Minister of Muthill, born 1769; died 14th August, 1822; brother-in-law of Archibald Colquhoun Campbell of Killermont, the death of whose child gave rise to Baroness Neurone's "The Land o' the Leal."
