Biography of Andrew Bradley
(John) Andrew Bradley joined the University in 1978 as Lecturer in Surgery. He was awarded a PhD by the University in 1982. He became a Consultant Surgeon at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow in 1984. In 1994, he was appointed Professor of Surgery at the University and Honorary Consultant Surgeon at the Western Infirmary.
Bradley attended Salendine Nook Secondary School, Huddersfield and Huddersfield College of Technology. He graduated MB ChB from the University of Leeds in 1975.
Bradley left the University of Glasgow in 1997 to take up the position of Professor of Surgery at the University of Cambridge and Honorary Consultant Surgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. His research interests are clinical and experimental transplantation, particularly the immunological mechanisms of allograft rejection.
